We had to do a re-design in photoshop of the ipod logo. Here is my example. Simple yet speaks volumes. Just like the ipod itself

Cake Anyone?

I watched this week’s episode of the Cake Boss, and every week I’m amazed at what can be done with cakes. The fact that Miss Richfield 1981 came out of a cake that wouldn’t fit throught the theatre doors and she pulled the audience outside to see her pop out of the cake, was quite funny. By the way Miss Richfield 1981 ia a man, and it was for a Drag Queen Show if New York.

Buddy then made his brother-in-law dress in drag and pass out cookies to the customer’s at the store for losing a bet. I will say that this is one of the only “reality TV” shows that I can watch with my family. The rest are either too stupid or too “r” rated. What happened to the day’s of the Brady Bunch, Gilligan’s Island, and Captn’ Kangaroo?

Oh I’m so old!

Colorsplash

So my reality world this week revolved around the decorating show Color Splash on HGTV. First I have to say how absolutely hot David Bromstad is. He was season 1 winner of Design Star on HGTV and his 6 pack is amazing. Now that I’m done drooling, man does this guy have a talent no one that I know has. He is re-designing rooms for people who 1. Have no budget, cause I know the show isnt fitting the bill and 2. People whose homes are over 1500 sq ft. , at least that is how it appears.

I would love to see the show do rooms for the real people. The working class of this country that has made America the country it is today. Let him work his Color Splash magic on the less fortunate, or people who need a great make-over and have $100 to spend. Where are the shows like that? Hey David and the folks at Color Splash……..come do my family room and let’s see what your truly made of. Challenge on…

Say “no” to the Dress…. please!

This week didn’t find me watching too much television. I was actually busy and wasn’t up at 3am channel surfing the cable stations looking for anything to occupy my fried brain. So I found myself watching “Say Yes to the Dress” where  the “bride-zilla’s” from all across the US come to Klienfled’s in NY City to try on and buy wedding dresses. The poor sales people have to put up with not only these highly snobbish bride’s but also the mother’s and the brides-zilla maid’s. They run around pulling dresses to fit these girls into, and have the wedding party in the background telling them how UGLY they all are and how it’s NOT the Dress.

I am married, I too went shopping for my dress with my mother, but I did it with dignity, politeness and respect for the people who were helping me. I also never would have thought about spending more than $500. (Before you think it or say it my dress was originally $4,000. Marked on clearance to $500.  I was taught early on how to bargain shop) There are beautiful gowns that are made at all price points. Not only did I find myself watching this crazy show, but it was the “best of” show, so I got the see the snobbish, rudest, crudest brides with some of the worst people ever. I hope they all watch and see just exactly how bad they really were acting, please don’t blame it on the editing team or the producer’s, that rude person on the TV is YOU! That is how YOU treat people and best of all, that’s how YOU treat your so-called best friend.  Maybe after the show they will realize how bad they speak to people and treat people and will make a concerted effort to be NICE.

To all those bride’s who have appointments and might get to be on the show, tell all your people you bring with you to behave, be nice, be respectful of the sales people, but most of all, be respectful to YOU! It’s is however all about YOU, and it will be all about YOU till your day comes and ends.

This week has been interesting

So this week has been kinda interesting. I haven’t had a chance to really watch too much Reality TV, but I did see some snip it’s from Jon & Kate. I thought they were done, but this week coming up is the last show. I saw the after show of  The Real Housewives of Orange County, and laughed so hard at Vickie. Yes miss high and mighty insurance woman who is the most critical of them all and a b—-, raises her glass to toast getting some trivia the after party host Andy was doing and there it was bigger than life……”ARMPIT SWEAT”, a great big wet stain on her smokey grey dress. The camera couldnt get off that shot fast enough and I laughed so hard. The high priestess is human after all. (Housewives is a BRAVO TV show)

The Cake Boss is a good show. I think it’s amazing what he does with these cakes. I used to be a baker and a cake decorator and it’s not easy. He makes it look effortless. The Robot Cake, the Roulette Table Cake. I have a dream to travel to New Jersey and get Buddy’s autograph and a cake. I wonder if I could have my daughter’s sweet 16 cake mailed to me. HMMMMMMM, that’s cake for thought.(TLC)

Home on Holmes has to be my new favorite homeowner fix it up show. I believe it’s based in Canada and this man is amazing! He goes in after reading letter’s form homeowner’s who have been screwed over by builder’s or contractor’s that haven’t finished the job or did the job wrong and he corrects it all. The things he does are amazing. He is correcting mistakes that others made and the outcomes are breath-taking. (TLC)

I plan to try to watch OCC next week, hopefully I can remember to tape it. Someone also suggested I watch the Amazing Race, that show doesn’t do much for me, and I’m not a Survivor watcher. Sorry folks.

The Flower Guy?

So, this week I’m channel surfing and I come across a show about a FLOWER DESIGNER, I think it’s called The Flower Guy on TLC. I was absolutely blown away by the fact that there is another reality show, about Floral Design. I love flowers, I have an amazing yard that I have spent thousands on. I have 10 green finger’s. Even with that being said, I was amazed at the design’s being created for parties in NY City and the arrangement done for Eva Longoria’s wedding in Europe. WOW, is all I can say.

I knew you could grow “giant” versions of flower’s but the beauty that was in these flower’s was amazing. The flower’s are the best part of this show. The one guy who is the designer (sorry I missed his name) is just rude, and the other guy, his partner and I think real life partner too has no personality. Thank god for the Flowers.

I guess in the world of reality TV, there is nothing that is off-limits. Pretty soon we will be watching cows or other live stock give birth or some show on Ant Farm grower’s..ohhh I shouldn’t have given away my idea. It could have made me millions.

On a brighter side of Reality TV, Jon and Kate are done, not just getting divorced but the show is done. Now maybe , just maybe the kids can have some normalcy in their lives and maybe without the camera’s and the fame the 2 people who are supposed to the ADULTS on that show will find out that there are 8 kids who need their mom and dad and they will get some help. However Kate is a great big control freak and Jon is the 9th kid so I doubt that will happen.

Reality TV-Where to start

When as a society did Reality TV become OK? What happened to old fashion TV sitcom’s with humor? Like Friends, Seinfeld, ER, Hill Street Blues for example, has our need to be involved in other people’s crappy lives become so low that we subject ourselves to the “scripted” real lives of others? Not one “real life” relationship has lasted and I wonder why? There can’t be any romance or privacy, that would be boring to watch, not to mention border line “R” rated. Wait that would be a lot better!

I’m asking why and yet I am one of those who watch this real life CRAP. Why? I wish I could answer it, I can say it makes great water cooler talk at the office, you learn to love/hate your favorite show/person. For example, Kim from the Real Housewives of Atlanta, enough of you already, take your nasty weave wigs and go hide somewhere, you can’t sing and no matter how much Dallas Austin synthesizes your voice it still SUCKS!, or Heidi and Spencer from the HILLS, America makes fun of you and we actually despise you both, young females in this world need to know your relationship is not healthy and it’s verbal and mental abuse. Heidi you are an abused woman who needs help and Spencer is the abuser who needs more help than any money in CA. can buy. I think Heidi should talk to Rihanna and learn a few things.

Any thoughts America? I’m sure some of you will find Kim to be a wonderful singer, (maybe if your deaf) and I know there are Spidi crazies out there too, (they too must be deaf and blind) who will argue my interpretations.

Hello world!

Welcome to WordPress.com. This is your first post. Edit or delete it and start blogging!

My name is Brigitte, I’m a graphic design student at  Specs Howard school of Broadcast Arts in Michigan. Blogging is part of this semester’s on-line class. I think this is going to be fun and interesting, I hope people other than fellow students see this blog and make remarks. How much fun will that be. I will warn everyone I’m very opinionated! and full of things to say. How ironic, isnt that what blogging is about? Isn’t it about my views and what I want to say and what I think? I guess I will find out.

I hope to make a point and make you who read this see my point, I hope to not upset or offend anyone intentionally, un-intentionally maybe, because of course as we all know there is always SOMEONE who is offended.
